Wednesday Cleaning at the Molehill

I fell off the cleaning wagon yesterday. Hey, I said "I try" for a reason! But in my defence.... BOOKS! I am a bit of a bibliophile. Most people like to binge watch tv shows (me included) but if I find a book series I love, I can't stop reading. I will read all books in a series consecutively until its finished, and my soul is empty and alone now my character friends have finished their journey. Luckily you can always re-read a book.

So, I got a bit lost yesterday in “The Crown of Midnight”, so my Bathroom day consisted of changing and washing the towels and chucking some toilet cleaner in the loo. Whoops! At least we have fresh towels YAY, and the hubby gave the bathrooms a tidy the other day soooooo, that’s totally cool.

Note: Sarah J Maas, author of the Throne of Glass Series I'm currently reading writes a kick ass book. Her Court of Thorns and Roses series delves into depression, anxiety and panic attacks. It's a really good series. Plus the sexy scenes are nice. Mmmm Rhysand. Get on it Ladies!

Today however, I FULL ADULTED. All on my own and everything wooo! How, do you ask? I didn’t pick up my next novel and cranked some kicking tunes. I managed to drop Miss A5 off to school, go to the gym, have a coffee date, and pick Miss A5 back up from school, AS WELL AS doing todays chore! KITCHEN DAY!

The day that this

(Now just so you know those aren’t all dirty dishes thank you very much.)

Becomes this

Isn’t it pretty!

It took under an hour from top to bottom. The process was:
-         Put clean dishes away
-         Wash dirty dishes
-         Wipe down all benches
-         Wipe down stove
-         Vacuum Floors

And when I got back from school pickup, the dishes were ready to be put away. I will mop once the kids are asleep. I don’t need those suckers falling over and crying that they fell over, after I told them not to walk in certain spots. Because kids, if anything, are guaranteed to do exactly what you told them NOT to do. Don’t jump on the couch. Don’t eat dirt. Don’t touch that frypan its hot! The usual.

Now don’t let the second picture fool you. This is the cleanest my kitchen has been in weeks! My kitchen most of the time, looks like the before photo. The kitchen bench is our dumping ground for dirty dishes, mail, keys, kids toys that have been confiscated. It is the breeding ground of junk. Hence the ACTUAL need to clean once a week. And since I hadn’t been on the ball previously, the kitchen has been neglected, but doesn’t it just look beautiful now.

I can guarantee that it won’t be anywhere as clean tomorrow, but for today I accomplished it and that’s pretty amazing.

Okay I didn't fully adult! I forgot Little Miss had speech Therapy this afternoon! Shhhh!
